|John Lorusso Sr.|
|John Lorusso Sr. age 73, passed away on Friday Dec. 28, 2007 at home after his battle with cancer. John was the son of Tom and Nicoletta Lorusso.
He was a lifelong resident of Tappan, NY and Proprietor of Mama Lorusso’s in Mt. Ivy, NY for over 28 years. John was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Nicoletta and his son Tommy.
He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1958.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia, his three children, John Lorusso Jr. of Blauvelt, Maureen Hoban of Pearl River and Kenny Lorusso of Highland Mills, four grandchildren, John, Amanda, Tara and Ciarra. Also surviving are his brothers, Thomas of Bardonia and Michael of Blauvelt, along with his sisters, Lily Fallo of Toms River, NJ and Virginia Saumell of Yonkers, NY.
Work and family were his obsession and he looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. John will always be remembered for his generosity, commitment to hard work and love of his family.
Friends may call Tuesday Jan 1, 2008 from 2 to 6 pm at the “Family Owned” Joseph W. Sorce F.H. Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday Jan. 2, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Catharine's Church, 523 Western Highway, Blauvelt.
Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill.
